Brake Rotor Directional Placement

Brake Rotor Directional Placement

We often get asked the question is there a left and right rotor? And can one rotor be used for either side of the vehicle? At Prime Choice we do machine our rotors directionally. We specifically cut one for the left side and one for the right side. We do this to help pinwheel the heat, gases, water, dust and debris etc. away from the center of your braking system. This helps to keep the rotors cooler and cleaner so they work at top efficiency. The easiest way to describe the correct rotation of your rotors would be to locate the upper most slot and or row of drill holes and make sure that it is pointing to or sweeping towards the rear of your vehicle. We also mark the inside of each rotor with an "L" (for the left side) or a "R" (for the right side) to indicate if it is for the left or right side.

Please follow the example below for further clarification of the placement for both the left drivers side and the right passenger side of your vehicle.
